Description:

This Viking replica is absolutely stunning with a rich black cherry stain. You can actually see the darkened wood grain peeking through from underneath. Just Beautiful! The metal edges and shield boss are 14g mild steel and have been riveted on. Due to the material, this shield comes oiled. The back is finished in black with an adjustable leather arm strap and wooden handle. The sheer size of this shield is impressive with dimensions of 29.75” x 29.38” and ½ inch thick. Not only were Viking shields used in battle but they were also placed in shield racks on ships to protect the people inside. If you are looking for a shield to complete a costume or for re-enactments this shield is a lovely choice.
