  • Smooth shield with Vegvisir Runes symbol. The Vegvisir, which is also known as the Viking compass, is an ancient Norse symbol, worn to find one's way through rough weather. Viking warriors would engrave such a symbol on their shields to guarantee the success of their raids.
  • The shield is made out of thick birch plywood, painted, and smoothed by hand. It is consolidated with a steel hand-hammered umbo and bolts. It comes with a wood handlebar installed on the back.
  • The shield can be used as a decorative wall hanger or as a functional piece for medieval reenactment, SCA LARP or collection.
  • Size - 24 inches in diameter (61 cm)
  • Weight - 8 pounds (3.5 kg)
  • Material - 15mm thick birch plywood
  • Because these are handmade products made with natural wood planks the sizes, textures and overall appearance may vary slightly from the photos displayed.
